On Tuesday, 14th of May 2013, representatives of the International Cooperation, European Affairs and Lifelong Education Section of the Slovak Republic Ministry of Education, Mrs. JUDr. Dagmar Hupkova and Vijera Gutova visited The Cultural Institute of Vojvodina's Slovaks. They were welcomed by the Institute’s Director, Milina Sklabinski.
Dr. Hupkova spoke about the Ministry's activities regarding the support for the Slovak national communities abroad in the field of education, as well as other current issues.
Milina Sklabinski familiarized her guests with the mission, accomplishments and future plans of the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks, and on this occasion she presented a successful monograph Slovaks in Serbia from the Cultural Aspect, second revised edition of which is expected to come out soon. The guests were also able to see the current exhibition of paintings by Alžbeta Čižikova, the oldest naive painter from Kovačica. Dr. Juraj Glovnja, the editor of the Slovak Language and Culture at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Slovak Studies, also attended the meeting.
