Miroslav Demák was born in November 2, 1948 in Stara Pazova. Elementary and high school he finished in his birth town. In the years 1967-1972 he studied in the Journalistic department of the Faculty of Philosophy of Comenicus University in Bratislava. He worked as a journalist in the redaction of Hlas ľudu (Voice of People), as an editor of the magazine Nový život (New Life) (1975-1988, in the years 1985-1987 also as a deputy chief redactor). He was the chief redactor of the magazine Pionieri (Pioneers), later Zornička (Morning Star) (1982-1993) and the leading manager of the publishing activities and the main and liable redactor of book issues of the ZOTP Tvorba of the Publishing company Obzor (1988-1989) and the general manager of the Publishing company Obzor-Tvorba (1988-1993).
In the beginning of July 1993 he moved to Slovakia, where he started to work in the Slovak pedagogical press, later in the publishing company Tigra. In Bratislava he has his own publishing company ESA, in which he publishes mainly the works of the flat land authors. He is a member of the Association of writers of Vojvodina and the Association of Slovak writers in Bratislava.
He published collections of poems From open palm (1974) and Zodiac (1977, together with the cycle Between two fires of Víťazoslav Hronec) and collection of children poem Choir of skunks (1985). He writes also stories for adults and stories and dramas for children. He published also two selections of Slovak Vojvodina’s for children: It’s easy to fly when you have wings (1986) and I will buy a candy like a gate (1994) and the anthology of Slovak flat land children poetry Is it?. His children books were translated into Serbian and Macedonian language. He occupies himself also with translation. He is a winner of Republic Prize Neven (1979) and Prize of magazine Nový život (New Life) (1981).
