At the time when citizens of Kysáč were celebrating the 220th annual of the Slovak ancestors arrival to the this small town the foundation of festival The golden gate was laid. Firstly the goal of that project was to incite and evolve the creative and cultural awareness in children, to instill the love for the biggest treasure of one nation- traditional culture and to suggest them the reciprocation of the know-how of the cultural workers and experts.
The first annual set of the festival was on May the 23rd in 1993. Back then the village called Kysáč was the organizer of the folklore festival called Dance, dance...on which 23 ensembles performed from 17 villages also guests from Vrbas and Srbobran.
The golden gate is a festival of children dances, songs, music and games which is traditionally held in Kysač. It gathers over thousand promising singers and dancers from every small town where Slovaks live and also Slovaks from abroad.
The golden gate id being held in teh end of the school year, in June the 20th and it last for three days, friday, saturday and sunday.
