The aim of this festival is to prepetuate and to develop Slovak traditional dances, songs, music and customs in Vojvodina. The founder of this festival is the cultural - edifying association called Jednota Hložany.
The first festival was on the April 5th in the year of 1970. Its progress was visible trough the changes of the festivals name. Firstly it was called The competition of the folk dances of the Yugoslavian Slovaks, The competition of the Slovak folk groups from Vojvodina, The festival of Slovak music and folklore dance production SAP Vojvodina and few more until the name became stable and is called Dance, dance…
The festival is being led in a Slovak village called Hložany or to be more correct it has to be led in Hložany at least once in two years and in the meanwhile it can be held in other Slovak towns. This festival is been led on the last weekend in May. The concerts are being held on the stage of the amphitheatre which can hold more than 2600 spectators.
The festival is escorted with many ethno expositions also different expositions of artists and last time there was organized a fishing, hunting and chess competitions. Until now there have been over 30 000 participants.
